Growing up in Dallas with a father who was a classic country music fan, I’d always heard of The Longhorn Ballroom. And I’d always heard of Dewey Groom. You can’t have one without the other. Here is a 1971 interview with Dewey Groom that appeared in a local magazine called County Music Reporter.

Happy 80th Birthday, Lefty!
March 31, 2008 was the 80th birthday of Lefty Frizzell, the finest country singer ever. I drive to his hometown of Corsicana, Texas to pay my respects.
